Puma Shoes
Sports and athletics play a major role in the world. In some ways,
sports apparel plays an even bigger role. There are many companies
that produce athletic wear, but only few make it to the "big"
games. In 1948, Rudolf Dassler was working as a designer for his
brother’s line of sportswear called "Adidas." He decided to
branch out with his own company, "Puma"; the company started the
era of the Puma shoe, which quickly swept retail stores and
boutiques all over Germany.
Today, Puma is one of the most recognized names in sports fashion.
The shoes can be seen on the feet of soccer players and fans
internationally. The first Puma athletic shoe to hit the scene was
the classic "Clyde by Puma," and later, the "Atom" was introduced.
Puma has expanded its line to other sports apparel, as well, such
as track jackets and jogging suits. Every piece of apparel features
the signature Puma logo – a leaping cougar. The logo is said
to symbolize courage and power, both characteristics that describe
Puma’s style.
In 2002, a new collection was added to the line, designed by
world-renowned tennis player Serena Williams. The collection was
called the "Serena Williams Tennis Collection." The collection
offers an extensive line of fashionable tennis dresses and feminine
tennis shoes.
For years to come, as in years past, the Puma logo will continue to
express a sense of confidence and authority to sports players and
fans throughout the world.
