Zac Posen
Zac Posen was born October 2, 1980 to parents Stephen and Susan
Posen, his father was a painter, and his mother was a corporate
lawyer. He went on to earn a B.A in woman's wear at Central
St. Martins located in London, and then soon after graduating
started his own label. The label was immediately recognized
by many inside style leaders such as Natalie Portman, Claire Danes,
Cameron Diaz, and Beyonce Knowles, just to name a few.
His signature style includes bias-cut gowns, fishtail hemlines, and
seems to have a passion for screen-siren style. He
incorporates elegance with real world functionality for the
slightly younger crowd, which makes the items he has made available
to the public a great addition to any closet. His first
brush with big success started when he designed a gown for Naomi
Campbell who heard of Posen's designs through Lola Schnabel (Posen
refers to her sister Stella as his muse), the daughter of American
artist Julian Schnabel.
He has grown into a very well connected artist and long ago are the
days that he had to financially support his own runway shows, with
backers like Sean "Diddy" Combs, he is able to focus on developing
his ever anticipated accessories line. Recently Zac partnered
with long time friend Pamela Love to create an "Alice in
Wonderland" themed accessory line for 2009 and each piece is
absolutely breathtaking. Look for his new handbags coming soon, you
will like what he has in store for us all.
