Bajra Accessories
What makes the Bajra collection so unique is that it draws its
influences from the beautiful mountains and scenery in Katmandu,
Nepal. The collection includes exclusive wraps, shawls,
capes, and beaded and embroidered cashmere, as well as has expanded
to include leather and suede shawls. Each item is uniquely made
from rare fabrics, including Pineapple (Pina) and Banana (Abaca),
perfectly integrated to produce the highest quality in the fashion
industry.
Founded and launched by Barbara Constantinescu, Bajra is now an
exclusive collection of cashmere and silk shawls. In 1992,
Barbara discovered a luxurious fabric, Pashmina, a combination of
hand woven cashmere and silk, while on a hike in the Annapurna
region of Nepal. From then on, Bajra has created new textures
and designs admired by women all over the world.
With the creative in-house team and the Nepalese employees, Barbara
continues to focus on luxury cashmere and leather materials.
Together with her three talented daughters, Barbara and her team
continues to diversify the Bajra collection to include more
detailed work, such as appliqué designs, metallic beads and
delicate fringes, all in collaboration with the weavers, beaders
and seamstresses of the Nepal region.
The Bajra collection, once native to embroidered cashmere, has
expanded its collection to include shawls made from leather and
silk, which are then layered in cashmere and brocade, rare fabrics
that originate from Nepal. Today, Bajra has become a
household name in the world of fashion and accessories.
