craftsmen whom were dispersed around the Loire Valley to create
handmade leather covers for pipes and other products for smokers.

leather bags and goods. Today, Longchamp is best known for coming
up with stylish, yet practical travel bags. By 1980, Philippe
Cassegrain took over the reins of the company, and the company
extended its reach into other market sectors, spinning out shoes,

Leather remains the material of choice for the company, but in 1993, Longchamp unveiled its “Le Pliage” line, comprised of a modern collection of collapsible vinyl bags with a leather trim.
