Nanette Lepore
They say true talent is recognizable at a tender age, and this is
true in the case of fashion designer Nanette Lepore who had her
first ‘model’ at the age of 9. Her father was an
abstract painter, and Nanette constantly attributes her artistic
genes to her parents. The year 1992 was a special one for her,
marking the year she launched her own label, in a modest and
unassuming penthouse office. Today, she commands a world famous
brand, constantly designing gorgeous offerings from her atelier in
New York City. Over the years, her success has snowballed,
prompting the endorsements of famous style icons such as Blake
Lively, Leighton Meester, Taylor Swift and Scarlett Johansson.
Growing up in Ohio, Nanette Lepore credits her childhood as her
fashion muse, gaining much inspiration from the influence of her
Bohemian parents. She successfully incorporates bohemian themes
into her dresses and tops, and each season, these take on the
runway in funky, multicolored creations which manage to look chic
and sophisticated whilst keeping in line with the hip theme. These
dresses, jackets and gowns bear a touch of whimsy, and are breezy,
light and especially catered to the free spirited.
Floral and faunal motifs are probably one of Nanette Lepore’s
trademarks, and these are often splashed tastefully on most of her
garments. In recent years, Nanette Lepore has waded into other
markets, designing shoes and also recently launching her latest
fragrance, Nanette by Nanette Lepore. Each and every design by
Nanette Lepore is bold, vibrant and elegant with a bohemian twist,
which makes them unique, placing them in a league, entirely their
own.
