Charlotte Ronson
Charlotte Ronson is a young, American fashion designer whose
success lies in her creative collaborations with friends and
family, as well as her unique sense of style. Born in London and
raised in New York, Ronson has been able to draw inspiration from
her travels throughout these countries. Ronson was born into a
wealthy family and her siblings are familiar faces in the Hollywood
scene, being deejays at elite night clubs. With her keen fashion
sense, friends and family began asking Ronson to make them items,
such as handbags and accessories. With celebs Lindsay Lohan and
Lily Allen toting around Ronson’s creations, it was not long
before Ronson became a name that was synonymous with cute, trendy
fashion.
In 2000, Ronson launched her first clothing line, C. Ronson, and
opened up her first boutique a couple years later, located in the
affluent New York City. It was not until 2005 that she paired up
with Aaron Nir, who is now president, and the duo renamed the
collection Charlotte Ronson. With Nir’s business sense and
Ronson’s unique sense of style, the two have done an
excellent job marketing the clothing line and have made exclusive
lines for large retail chains. Play by C. Ronson is sold at Urban
Outfitters stores, while I [Heart] Ronson is JC Penney’s
fashionable sportswear line. Ronson also launched a swimwear
collection in 2009 called Shoshanna Made With Love Charlotte
Ronson.
Not only is Ronson a huge success in the United States, but one can
find her boutiques and clothes being sold throughout Japan. Her
collections are young, playful and cute, with inspirations coming
from Ronson’s two sisters. The Charlotte Ronson collection
has a vintage-feel, and it is not uncommon to find Ronson adding
her own hippie or Bohemian flair.
